Day 1: Arrival, Nyerere National Park
Pick up either from your hotel in Dar es Salaam, or at Julius Nyerere International Airport.
You will meet your driver-guide and head to Africa’s largest national park, previously known as Selous Game Reserve. It is approximately a 5-hr drive, passing through some local villages and meandering through the Selous Wilderness to reach your luxury camp.
Your accommodations are situated along the banks of the Rufiji River, a prime water source for all types of animals in Nyerere National Park.
After a brief game drive in the park, you will head to your accommodations in time for sunset and a delicious dinner.
Dinner and overnight at Selous Wilderness Camp.
Day 2: Full Day Game Drive Nyerere National Park
After breakfast, enjoy a full day of game viewing in Nyerere National Park, with options to track leopards, follow a cheetah on the hunt, or watch a family of elephants playing along the river.
You may visit various areas of the park, or retire early to enjoy the amenities of your accommodation, which include a pool and bar/lounge.
Option to schedule a Bush Walk (for an added fee as you will be accompanied by a park ranger) to experience more of Nyerere National Park on foot.
Dinner and overnight at Selous Wilderness Camp.

Day 3: Nyerere National Park - Rufiji River Tour
After breakfast, go on a Boat Safari along the Rufiji River for a chance to spot waterfowl, crocodiles and hippos and relax on the river.
Option to return to accommodation for a hot lunch, then enjoy an afternoon game drive to look for giraffes, elands and gazelles, or take a packed lunch and begin drive immediately after boat tour – the choice is yours!

Day 4 : Drive to Dar es Salaam, flight to Arusha
After breakfast, depart from Nyerere National Park and drive to Dar es Salaam. You will have an afternoon or evening flight directly to Arusha (approx 1 hr).
On arrival at Arusha Domestic Airport (ARK), you will meet your new driver-guide for your northern safari and transfer to Ilboru Safari Lodge for dinner and overnight.
Depending on time of arrival, you may enjoy a city tour of Arusha, or take an hour to view an African art gallery before heading to your accommodations, situated on a beautiful hill overlooking Arusha town. The lodge has a swimming pool and a starred restaurant.

Day 5 : Tarangire National Park
After breakfast, depart for Tarangire National Park.
This destination evokes the appeal of 1930’s African Safaris, with stunning baobab trees, proud antelopes and giraffes. It is known as the “home of elephants’ and boasts some of the highest number of elephant herds in all of East Africa; some numbering 300 or 400 in a group!
After your game drive, you will pass along the Great Rift Valley en-route to your overnight accommodations, located just outside of the lush Ngorongoro Conservation Area.

Day 6: Serengeti National Park
After breakfast, you will begin the drive to Serengeti via Ngorongoro Conservation Area.
Since these protected areas are not separated by any physical barriers, you are likely to see any number of animals throughout the drive to Serengeti Gate; giraffes, elephants, zebras, gazelles and antelopes, are commonly spotted.
You may include a stop at a Maasai Boma to see a tribe that lives in harmony with nature, herding their goats and cows alongside zebras and wildebeests. (Additional cost for village fees).
Once you pass into Serengeti, the adventure continues as you have a short game drive en-route to your accommodations.

Day 7: Serengeti National Park
Enjoy a full day game viewing in the Serengeti.
Your accommodations are set in the fabulous Seronera, an area that sees herds (and their predators) year-round – some which may even be visible right from your glamorous tent!
This isn’t typical ‘camping’; it’s a luxury tent with real beds and hot, running water. You’ll dine with a view and enjoy a nightly campfire while listening to the roars of lions in the distance.
If you are interested in a Balloon Safari, this is the best morning to do so. Contact us in advance to arrange (additional fees apply).

Day 8: Serengeti National Park
Your final full-day in the Serengeti; visit the Visitor’s Center to learn the history of this important park. Other options include heading out early for a sunrise drive (best chance to spot leopards and cheetahs is early in the morning), then head back to the camp for a hot lunch.

Day 9: Serengeti to Ngorongoro
After breakfast, depart for Ngorongoro Conservation Area, enjoying a game drive enroute.
Optional activities include an afternoon hike to see Olmoti Crater (approx 1-2 hrs hike).
Or a stop at Olduvai Gorge to see first-hand the famous Leakey excavation site, evidence of the earliest humans descending from Tanzania.

Proceed to Ngorongoro Conservation Authority Area. This night you will stay at the Rim of the Crater with some incredible views of one of the natural wonders of the world.
Dinner and overnight at Ngorongoro Serena Lodge.

Day 10: Ngorongoro Crater
After breakfast with a world-famous view, descend to the Ngorongoro Crater Floor.
Experience for yourself the world’s highest density of mammals, including big predators such as lions.
This is also an ideal place to spot the endangered Black Rhino for a great finale to your Ultimate Tanzania safari Adventure.
In the late afternoon, drive back to Arusha for dinner and overnight at Ilboru Safari Lodge.

Day 11: Arusha and Departure
Breakfast at your leisure. Your driver-guide will arrange a pick-up time to ensure you arrive at Arusha Airport (or Kilimanjaro Airport, depending on your ongoing plans) in time for your flight.
If time permits, you may want to add a waterfall hike or tour of Lake Duluti, with options to canoe or take a boat on the serene crater lake. These options are ideal for guests with evening flights, contact us to learn more about adding these activities to your tour.
We recommend including a few days beach holiday with this tour, to experience the Indian Ocean and the Swahili Coastal culture.
