MARUHUBI BEACH VILLAS

Maruhubi Beach Villas is situated on the seafront, just five minutes drive north of Zanzibar Stone Town between the famous Maruhubi Palace Grounds and the lush, tropical gardens of Mtoni Marine Centre.

The restaurant and rooms have spectacular views west across the sea to Chapwani and Changu Islands and south to Stone Town.

The six stone built villas all have excellent sea and river views. Each villa has two comfortable air-conditioned bedrooms and en suite bathrooms.

Maruhubi Beach Villas is located 5 minutes drive from the Stone Town. The bustling capital- Stone Town (declared a Unesco World Heritage Site in 2000) with its maze of narrow streets, shops and markets is a blur of colours, sounds and spiced aromas.

Famous too for its ornate carved and studded heavy wooden doors. Stone Town has much to offer the photographer, artist and culture seeker, blending as it has, many differing cultures into its present day mix. BAWE TROPICAL ISLAND (ZANZIBAR)

Its 15 magnificent cottages are discretely scattered along the beach line, all of them with panoramic views of the clear waters of the Indian Ocean, ensuring maximum privacy and seclusion. The cottages, situated to make them feel like a part of the surrounded landscape, are built on local traditional materials and topped with thatched roofs, allowing the invigorating sea breeze to circulate and affording cool atmosphere day and night.

The spacious cottages host magnificent dhow type of beds equipped with mosquito nets. The tasteful interiors, known as los colores given their warm combination of soft colours (greens, yellows, oranges, grape fruit) are elegantly decorated and they all contain ensuite bathrooms, all with double basin, 2 al fresco showers and bathtub.

The large private wooden verandas looking over the ocean give an impression of living outdoors, with air remaining mild all year round.

CHANGUU PRIVATE ISLANDS AND PARADISE ISLAND- ZANZIBAR

Prison Island offers two room categories, all in close proximity to the sea.
15 exclusive deluxe cottages are located in the north-west side of the island, discretely distributed along the sea-line, affording maximum privacy and seclusion. The cottages are built in local materials and topped with traditional thatched roofs, achieving cool atmosphere day and night.
The spacious interiors are elegantly decorated and equipped with mosquito nets and ensuite bathrooms, all with 2 al fresco showers and bathtub.

The private outdoor verandas face out to the sea, maximizing the views and sounds of the Ocean. In the south-west side of the island, the former Quarantine Area built in 1931 has been converted into 12 elegant standard sea facing rooms that afford the most fantastic views of Stone Town, all of them ensuite with shower equipments and mosquito nets.

ZANZIBAR SERENA INN

A unique, quintessentially Tanzanian experience alongside the Indian Ocean. Zanzibar Serena Inn is in Stone Town, so close to the sea, the waves are known to reach right up to the restaurant. A great base for exploring the region, with gourmet dining, a private beach club and easy access to many attractions.

Unguja Lodge is a small owner-run luxury hide-away enjoying a private and tucked away beach location in Kizimkazi on the southern tip of Zanzibar. Resident co-owners Ralph and Elies completed the design and building of Unguja in June 2007 using mostly locally source materials such as coral rock, makuti and the distinctive wood from the coconut tree for all its expertly handcrafted furniture.

KINASI MAFIA ISLAND

KINASI is a small, private lodge situated in a coconut and cashew plantation facing Chole Bay on Mafia Island. It provides a high standard of accommodation in only lanteen bungalows (one is a family unit with two bedrooms), each with a large verandah and ensuite bathroom. The bungalows have been constructed in rendered concrete block, with palm-leaf (makuti) roofs, and concrete foundations and floors. There is all-day mains electricity and hot and cold water supply from three permanent wells on the property. Our rooms not air-conditioned but one cooled by fans and the large shutter doors and windows.

The intention has been to create a resort that is relaxing and stylish, with a very personal feel. KINASI is beautifully furnished with antiques and hand-crafted furniture, made for us to our own designs. The dining room is appointed with crockery and hand-blown glassware made specially for us and there are original works of art by East African artists
