Safari Type: Budget Camping
Destinations:
- Serengeti Nat Park
- Ngorongoro Crater
- Safari Start: Arusha
- Departure: Arusha, Kilimanjaro International Airport
- Season: Year-Round
Day 1: Serengeti National Park
Your driver-guide will meet you in the morning and conduct a briefing as you start off toward Serengeti.
The route passes through Ngorongoro Conservation Area, and your game-drive begins as soon as you enter the protected area. Depending on the time of year, you may spot herds of zebras and gazelles, or even giraffes and elephants en-route.
Once you pass through the Serengeti Gate, there are even more animals to see. The famous Seronera area sees herds of grazing animals year-round, as well as their predators, like lions and leopards.
In the evening, head to your campsite to set up and enjoy a splendid sunset.
Dinner and overnight at Seronera Campsite.
Day 2: Serengeti National Park
Start with an early morning drive for the best chance at capturing photos of cheetahs and leopards. There is also typical ‘golden hour’ lighting as the sun comes up.
Stop in Central Serengeti for a packed picnic breakfast, and enjoy the beauty of nature, in the middle of this famous national park.
You may opt to head to other areas today; such as Lobo Valley (the Big Cat Capital) or Moru Kopjes, where Rhinos are frequently spotted.
In the evening, return to your campsite and relax around a campfire to honor your final night in the Great Serengeti.
Dinner and overnight at Seronera Campsite.
Day 3 : Ngorongoro Crater to Arusha
After early breakfast, depart Serengeti and head back to Ngorongoro.
In the late morning or early afternoon, you will descend into the famous Ngorongoro Crater, one of the top tourist destinations in the world.
Ngorongoro Crater is home to over 20,000 large grazing animals, boasting the largest concentration of predators found on the planet.
The crater covers an area of 250 km square and has an average depth of 600m.
Some of the animals that reside in the Crater, year-round, include: rhinos, lions, zebras, wildebeests, elands, buffalo and many, many more! Forest elephants and leopards are more difficult to spot, but are present, as well.
In the early afternoon, ascend out of the Crater and drive back to Arusha for your onward journey, or Kilimanjaro International Airport for your return flight.
Half-board: breakfast, lunch and transportation included.
There are no accommodations for this final night.
